My Town
Mytholmroyd isn’t really known amongst the people of Calderdale as it’s settled right next to Hebden Bridge and Hebden always has the ‘attention’ focused on it. I think the only time Mytholmroyd was noticed was when it flooded and that wasn’t a good thing.
If I had the chance to move away from Mytholmroyd I would take it, as I personally find that nothing ‘big’ ever happens here. It’s the same every year and when you’ve been through the events more than twice you just become really bored of them happening.
But when tourists come to Mytholmroyd they seem to really love it here, I think it may be because it is a quiet location, you obviously have the high school and the primary school but when people come and look around Mytholmroyd they obviously don’t really take notice of them.
I see why people like Mytholmroyd but I wouldn’t be surprised if they only came once every 10 years as nothing ever happens that is different. I have known quite a lot of people that have liked Mytholmroyd but I have also noticed those who do are the older generation and not the younger generation. Maybe one day that’ll change.
