Before you start the masking process on photoshop you need have two available images that are both black and white. (You can use colour) Both images will be on separate pages and for you to merge the photos together you need to drag the top image to the bottom image.
After you have done that you need to make the masking page on the top image, to do that you have to go on the layer __ and click the button that has 'Add layer mask' on the hover. The button is the 3rd right. As soon as you click the button you will see a 'Layer 1' add to your second picture.
To start the masking process you need to click on your brush tool which is located in your main tools. When you have clicked that you need to change your colours to the original black and white colour, by doing that you need to make sure the foreground and background colour are those specific colours.
Once you have completed all of the above you can finally start masking. Now the black brush will give you the top image, the white brush will layer you down to the bottom image. How you design it is up to you.
