Bokeh
Bokeh is 'blur' in Japanese. To capture Bokeh you will need to be use the depth of field setting on your camera as well as being out of focus. You see Bokeh in many night images as it's just blurred lights. Whether you're taking picture of a Christmas tree or street lamps on the pavement, you will always have a Bokeh effect when out of focus on lights.
Bokeh 18-55mm Lens
These set of six pictures were all taken by the kit lens which is the 18-55mm using a disco light. The lights were rotating in a anti-clockwise motion. Using this lens was a lot easier than using the 50mm lens as you could make it go out of focus using your own hands. You could make the focus either be really blurred or just slightly in focus but it still captured the effect.
My last image of the set has the letter 'E' that may look like 'F'. To do this I cut out the letter 'E' out of some card. The letter was really small and difficult to cut out but I'm happy with how it turned out. I placed the cut out in-front of my lens and took a series of shots.

Bokeh - 50mm Lens
When using the 50mm lens you have to be closer to the object because you cant zoom in. When using this lens I found it difficult to have a steady hand to get the right capture. You have to be close to the object while being out of focus to get the capture you want.
The last four images have been done with card cut outs. I did a moon shape (half a circle) and a deformed dog (inspired by Banksy). I personally think the card cut outs came out the best than all the other captures I got.

Bokeh - Newspaper - Kit Lens
For these captures I used the kit lens and I cut out some paper and placed it direct on the focus point. With the paper being in focus it made the Bokeh seem more natural.
